Mono Vampire win! It’s been quite a while since those words have typed in and it’s the best way to open up this writeup.
The Mono Vampire’s 110-82 loss on January 9, 2019 to the CLS Knights was tough to watch for their fans but it wasn’t unexpected. Their leading scorer Mike Singletary was serving a one game suspension, leaving them shorthanded. The bigger news: Moses Morgan had been released by the Mono Vampire Basketball Club.
The situation seems pretty bad for Mono Vampire just a little under one-thirds through the 2018-2019 ABL season. They were just one win away from claiming the ABL championship. Now, they are potentially just one healthy Will Artino away from being winless after 8 games. What happened?
Hong Kong Eastern are known for their comeback rallies and was in full effect in their very first game of 2019 against the Mono Vampire. Down by nearly 20 points at one point, Hong Kong Eastern never backed down and overcame a shortage of personnel to win 95-88.

Another New Year’s break, another import change for the Mono Vampire Basketball Club. This year, it is Chris Charles who has unfortunately only played two games with the team this season. Replacing him is former PBA import, Malcolm White.
Though the Mono Vampire Basketball Club were finally able to end their 4-game losing streak and claim their first win of the season, the team still felt a need for change and have now formally announced the addition of three-season ABL veteran, Freddie Goldstein.
