Jason Brickman was recently released by the Mono Vampire Basketball Club of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL). Is his next destination with Hitech Basketball Club in the Thailand Basketball Super League (TBSL)?

In an Instagram Story post published by Hitech Basketball Club point guard Kannawat Lertlaokul, a person is seen to be greeting Hitech players Sukdave Ghogar and Nakorn Jaisanuk at the Hitech facility. Though the person’s face is never shown, it is speculated this is former Mono Vampire Basketball Club point guard Jason Brickman who has similar physique and similar tattoos.
Hitech are in preparation to play in the Thailand Basketball Super League (TBSL) starting on February 23. The league allows teams to sign up to two ASEAN Heritage Imports. Hitech will be permitted to only use one ASEAN Heritage Import at one time on the court when they play against other Thai clubs PEA and SWU.
The team has been contacted regarding the signing of FIlipino-American Jason Brickman and has neither confirmed nor rejected the news.
Brickman recently played for the Mono Vampire Basketball Club from early 2017 up until 2019 when he was released by the club during this current ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) campaign. The point guard is the ABL’s All-Time leader in assists and has one championship over two Finals appearances in three seasons. His career average is 12.4 points and 10.0 assists per game, playing for both the Westports Malaysia Dragons and the Mono Vampire Basketball Club.
After his release from the Mono Vampire Basketball Club, fans have speculated that Brickman would join ABL defending champions, San Miguel Alab Pilipinas, where he would be allowed to join the team as a local player due to his heritage. Head coach Jimmy Alapag has expressed his interest in getting a player of Brickman’s caliber, but there has been no other sign that a move to join the club currently at the top of the ABL standings is going to happen soon. The ABL’s deadline for roster changes is said to be at February 24.
Since Brickman was released from his former Thai club, he played for Mighty Sports (Philippines) which won 3rd place at the 30th Dubai International Basketball Championship.
If Brickman is confirmed to join Hitech for the TBSL 2019, it would be a full circle for both himself and Hitech. Back in 2017, the floor general was rumored to have already agreed to play for Hitech affiliate, Thai General Equipment (TGE), in the inaugural TBSL season before a late decision to play for Mono Vampire which would the start of a successful two-year stay with the club.
With Mono Vampire, Brickman has won two TBSL titles and one TBL title.
