The last time we saw Justin Bassey, he was playing against some of the top youth players in Asia. The next time we see him, he’ll be on the court among some of the best collegiate players in the United States of America.

Bassey had committed to Harvard earlier in the year and after an interesting offseason, he is finally so close to finally debut as a part of the Harvard Crimson.
Bassey will be wearing the #20 jersey for the Crimson as a part of one of the most highly touted recruiting class Harvard Basketball has seen. Joining Bassey in this class with be Bryce Aiken, Seth Towns, Robert Baker Jr, Chris Lewis, Henry Welsh, and Christian Juzang (who interestingly has Vietnamese descent). The 6 will be a nice core for Coach Tommy Amaker to build on into the future.
He’ll have to work his way into the rotation, but Bassey’s agility and size (6’5″) makes him an interesting piece for Tommy Amaker to utilize.

Here are some notable games:
- On November 11, Harvard will play Stanford in the “PAC-12 China Game” at Shanghai, China. *Note: Tones & Definition in cooperation with NBA Time might be at the game for exclusive coverage.*
Apart from Bassey (Thai) and Juzang (Vietnamese), this game might also have a little more Asian taste with Stanford’s Robert Cartwright (unconfirmed). - On November 29, Harvard will host George Washington (the college basketball team not the former President). In that game, Bassey might face Japanese-born Yuta Watanabe. Watanabe is quoted to “eventually going to be [Japan’s] ace player“.
- On January 2, Harvard will visit Vermont. Vermont is home to the Filipino-American brothers, Ernie and Everett Duncan.
- On January 10, Harvard will host McGill University. Jenning Leung (born in Laguna, Philippines) stars at McGill, scored 12.2 points last season for the Canadian University. Bangkok-born Belgian, Leon Van Den Berghe, was also a redshirt freshmen for McGill last season.
- On January 16, Harvard will visit Bryant. Filipino-American Justin Brickman (Jason Brickman’s brother) plays for Bryant University.

นอกจากแบสซี่ (ไทย) และ จูซาง (เวียดนาม) เกมนี้จะมี โรเบิร์ด คาร์ตไรท์ ของสแตนฟอร์ที่น่าจะมีเชื้อสายเอเชียอีกด้วย (ยังไม่ยืนยันข้อมูล) - วันที่ 29 พฤศจิกายน ฮาเวิร์ด จะเปิดบ้านต้อนรับ มหาวิทยาลัย จอร์จ วอชิงตัน ซึ่งมี ยูตะ วาตานาเบ้ ซึ่งเป็นนักบาสชาวญี่ปุ่น มีกระแสจากโค้ชหลายๆ ท่านว่า “อีกไม่นาน เขาจะเป็นเอสของทีมชาติญี่ปุ่นได้แน่นอน“
- วันที่ 2 มกราคม ฮาเวิร์ดจะไปเยี่ยมมหาวิทยาลัย เวอร์มอนต์ ซึ่งมีสองพี่น้องลูกครึ่งฟิลิปปินส์-อเมริกัน เออร์นี่ และ เอเวอร์เรต ดังแคน
- วันที่ 10 มกราคม มหาวิทยาลัย แมคกิล จะมาเยือนที่มหาวิทยาลัย ฮาเวิร์ด ซึ่ง แมคกิล มี เจนนิ่ง เหลือง (เกิดที่ เมืองลากูน่า ประเทศฟิลิปปินส์) ที่ทำแต้ม 12.2 แต้มต่อเกมปีที่แล้ว นอกจากนี้แล้ว แมคกิลยังมี ลีออน แวนเดนเบิร์ก ชาวเบลเยี่ยมที่เกิดที่กรุงเทพ
- วันที่ 16 มกราคม ฮาวเวิร์ด จะไปเยือนมหาวิทยาลัยไบรอันท์ ซึ่งมีลูกครึ่ง ฟิลิปปินส์-อเมริกัน จัสติน บริกแมน (น้องชายเจสัน บริกแมน)
