It’s that time of the year again. The Thailand Basketball League 2016 has wrapped up it’s regular season phase, so that can only mean one thing! It’s time for Tones & Definition’s pointless unofficial Post-Season Awards!

What a season it has been though! I’ll take the time to cover all of that in a later “Season in Review” post if I can, but for now, let me use this space to acknowledge the individual brilliance displayed throughout the past 3 months.
Here are the awards I’m going to be handing out this time around:

Notice that I cut out the more fun awards like Best Hair, Best Venue (obviously because there was only one), and Best Shoe Game from last year’s edition. This is in part because I felt these awards weren’t appreciated enough and also because I was way too lazy.
Deal with it.
DISCLAIMER NOTE: I enjoyed doing this and I love sharing my opinions on the basketball scene here. But once again, these are my own personal opinions. I am not a certified basketball expert in any terms. I am just someone who loves basketball. So if in anyway you disagree with my opinions, do feel free to share your own opinions as well because all I want is to start an ongoing conversation about the basketball community in their respective regions.
Now that we have all of that out of the way, let’s get down to business!
TBL 2016 Post-Season Awards: Defensive Player of the Year
I tried to separate this award into Import/Local categories last year where Phumin Singhasem (Mono Thew) and Anthony McClain (Mono Vampires) won both awards, respectively. Then I realized that defense shouldn’t be judged based on nationality. He who plays defense, plays good defense.
Before I hand out this award however, I have to say that the defensive standard was a bit down this year. Hitech switched from a rock solid defensive unit with Steve Thomas manning the paint to a high octane offense featuring Freddie Lish, Tyler Lamb, and Keala King. The Mono Vampires tried systematic approach to their defense, as opposed to how McClain anchored everything last year. But their shaky import situation made it hard to keep the defense stable. OSK had pretty good inside defenders like Jon Kreft and Steve Thomas, but like the Vampires, they went through 4 imports in the span of the season.
The Madgoats were sneakily the best defensive team in the league. They allowed the least amount of points (76.4 per game) which is also a result of them allowing opposing teams to shoot the least amount of 3 point shots (21.7) while converting the worst ratio of those long range shots (22.7%). They allow the least amount of free throws from the opposing teams as well (16.3 FTA/G).
Here are your TBL 2016 Defensive Players of the Year!
Magnum Rolle, Madgoats
Tanasit Moolwong, PEA
So…instead of giving out two awards, I just decided to give these two co-awards instead! Because I can. And I will.
Once again, deal with it.
Magnum Rolle was obviously centerpiece of the Madgoats defense. His combination of length, speed, and athleticism wreaked havoc for the opposition. He led the league in blocks (1.8 per game) but that doesn’t speak enough volume for how much effect he had. He altered so many shot and because he covered so much space, the perimeter players were able to roam around the three point line more freely. He was always shouting and warning everyone of the movement. Not only was he getting numbers, he was leading his team’s defensive scheme.
Rolle’s case for this award is pretty undeniable.
Moving on to our other recipient though…
Moolwong is not a household name. Probably only a handful of diehard Thai basketball fans will know who he is. He’s never been on a senior national team and he’s never played a large role for a powerhouse club either. But for a guy that lacks the credentials and has a limited scoring game, Moolwong has been a crucial part of the PEA team. Despite scoring only 1.1 points per game, Moolwong played 20.6 minutes per game throughout all 14 games for PEA. The key to that is his defense. His 1.2 steals per game is decent, but it’s more about Moolwong being PEA’s go to lockdown guy. He’s spent the season faceguarding the likes of Moses Morgan and Avery Scharer among others.
I understand that not everyone will agree with this choice, but I feel like Moolwong’s contributions to PEA’s defense is something that someone must point out. In a better surrounding and more well planned scheme, maybe he could be a much more disruptive force.
TBL 2016 Post-Season Awards: Most Outstanding World Import
With 8 teams and 2 World Imports per team, we saw quite a number of foreign talents strolling in the TBL. Let’s list them all out just to get a better picture:

For the sake of making this decision easier for me, I decided to cutout all mid-season acquisitions. This means last years candidates Jordan Collins and Steve Thomas are out, along with former ABL MVPs, Reggie Johnson and Nakiea Miller (yes, he was), and PBA vet, Rashad Bell (who averaged 31.8 points).
It was a tough choice to make, but I had to trim Daniel (relatively inefficient), Laudermill (drifted too often), Earl & Shaw (too many losses), and King (stalled offense). The most painful omission for me was Raymon Austin who was having a monster season before tearing his MCL. Just for old time’s sake, here’s Austin’s stat line:
Raymon Austin: 19.7 PPG, 14.4 RPG, 36.8 3P%, 49.6 eFG%, 1.3 AST, 1.7 Steals
Had he kept doing that for the entire season, my list of Best World Import would not have been limited to these two players (along with stat lines):
Magnum Rolle: 18.8 PPG (6th), 14.8 RPG (1st), 3.7 APG (3rd), 1.8 blocks (1st), 1.3 steals
Justin Howard: 15.6 PPG (10th), 10.8 RPG (4th), 0.9 APG, 1.3 blocks (3rd), 1.2 steals
At first glance, it looks like Magnum Rolle should run away with the award. Rolle was dominant on both ends and it seemed like he could have decided to take the ball and just go on a personal 8-0 run by himself at any moment. It also helps that Rolle’s game is a lot more entertaining to watch than Howard’s.
But let’s take a deeper look into Howard’s numbers. They seem to pale in comparison to Rolle, but take into consideration that he was playing only 20.6 minutes per game. He also had to share the ball with Tyler Lamb, Freddie Lish, AND Keala King. And he still managed to churn out those numbers.
MOMENT OF TRUTH:
Hey, if I had the authority I would have made these two co-Best World Imports. Wait, I do have the authority, scratch that. So…I just feel that the word BEST World Imports deserves some significance in being the sole BEST. So I have to choose between the two. Here it goes.
Here is your TBL 2016 Most Outstanding World Import! (Sorry Justin Howard…)
Magnum Rolle, Madgoats
I just felt that Magnum Rolle’s effect on the team was more significant on the Madgoats that Justin Howard’s was on the Hitech. Take Rolle out of the game and you could feel that the versatility of the Madgoats drop a bit.
Howard’s an awesome player, don’t get me wrong, but I feel Hitech could survive better without him that the Madgoats would have without Rolle.
TBL 2016 Post-Season Awards: Most Outstanding ASEAN Import
The TBL tested out the ASEAN Import system adapted from the ASEAN Basketball League and it worked wonders for the entertainment level. Celler dwellers like the Dunkin Raptors came into each game with a sliver of “hope” with sharpshooting Filipino Patrick Cabahug gunning for 22.1 points per game. Another Filipino, Lester Alvarez, helped as a veteran on a young TGE team. Jeff Viernes (PEA) tried to do as much as he could to bring his team to the promis land, but it wasn’t enough.
The Madgoats were the most creative with this new rule, switching ASEAN Imports twice. They started out with Cambodian Dominic Dar before changing to Fil-Am-??? Kevin Van Hook. They then changed again to Fil-Am AJ Mandani to end out the season.
All of those players did wonders for their teams for sure, but let’s be real here. It was pretty clear from day one who this award was going to.
Here is your TBL 2016 Most Outstanding ASEAN Import!
Avery Scharer, OSK R Airlines
Okay, so it wasn’t a complete runaway. Jeff Viernes had a monstrous season as well but Avery Scharer gets the nod for an obvious reason: OSK made the playoffs.
For comparision sake, let’s put their numbers side by side:
Jeff Viernes: 22.1 PPG (4th), ุ6.9 RPG, 2.5 APG (6th), 1.1 steals, 33.2 FG%
Avery Scharer: 22.4 PPG (2nd), 8.9 RPG (5th), 4.3 APG (1st), 2.2 steals (3rd), 40.3 FG%
For as awesome as Viernes’ numbers were, the Fil-Am Scharer was just on another level of awesomeness. Just like when he played with the KL Dragons in the ABL, he dictated the tempo of the game for his team. When he was on, his team would look unbeatable.
If anything else, Scharer fulfilled his pre-season goal of making OSK one of the most entertaining teams in the league.
TBL 2016 Post-Season Awards: Fresh Five
This is one of my favorite parts of the post season awards! It’s always fun and refreshing to talk about the next generation. All you need to do to be listed on this team is to be 22 years old or younger and play really, really good. First, let’s check on last year’s batch:

Chanathip Jukrawan, Thai General Equipment
Anaswee Klaewnarong, Thai General Equipment
Richard Latham, PEA
I had high hopes for Opamuratawong and Klahan. They both scored in double digits for their teams last year, but a lot of that was inflated from playing on the two bottom teams of the league.
Opamuratawong was called up to PEA during the window to help with their offense…but he didn’t seem to help much. He would only average 4.7 points and shot only 25.0% from the field. Not exactly the “All-TBL 2015 second team” you would expect.
While Opamuratawong disappeared from the basketball scene after last year’s TBL only resurface after the midseason, Klahan stayed relevant. He was a refreshing sight to see in the Thailand National Team SEABA Stankovic Cup roster. Klahan started the season with TGE again but couldn’t quite replicate his production in this TBL season, in part because of the ASEAN Import rule that allowed TGE to get Lester Alvarez. However, he played well enough to get promoted transferred to Hitech. For a guy who averaged only 11.6 minutes, he scored 6.2 points and grabbed 3.8 rebounds. Klahan is still a very promising prospect to look out for.
Klahan’s classmate, Anaswee Klaewnarong, had a more promising start by starting the season with Hitech after being with TGE last year. However, He wasn’t able to make much of an impact, getting to play only garbage minutes here and there. With the game getting more faster and players being forced to be more versatile, Klaewnarong has got to find a way to adjust to the changes around him.
Richard Latham broke free from the shackles of PEA and joined the Madgoats for this year’s TBL and it proved to be a good move for him. In his first game alone he played more minutes (36) than he had played through all of the regular season last year with PEA (22). His scoring touch could still use some improvement (32.4 FG%) and his offense is still pretty limited, but the Madgoats didn’t need his offense as much and he fit in as a scrappy rebounding hustle guy. And he’s still only barely 21.
As for Chanathip Jakkrawan, we’ll talk about him later.
Here is your TBL 2016 Fresh Five!
Kittithep Dasom, Thai General Equipment

For a second year running, Thai General Equipment puts in three names to this prestigious rising star lineup. Let’s start with the guy who is here for the second year running: Chanathip Jukrawan.
Stats: 7.9 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 0.7 BPG, 2.5 BLK%
Moving up from 3rd youngest player to 6th youngest player in the TBL at a little over 19.5 years old, Jukrawan still plays major minutes (19.4, 4th most on team). He’ll need to bulk up quite a bit more to be a dominant inside force, but he’s causing quite some trouble already with his length. Jukrawan still needs to clean up his defense (as any other teenager would), but his improvement in his offensive polish has been phenomenal. Let’s take a look at the jump he’s made:
Chanathip Jukrawan 2015: 31.5 FG%, 2.0 FTA
Chanathip Jukrawan 2016: 41.9 FG%, 3.3 FTA
While 41.9% isn’t exactly eye-popping, it’s way better than 31.5% and that’s the kind of trajectory you want to see. Jukrawan had 4 (out of 8) games last year, where he didn’t attempt a single free-throw. This year, he only had 3 (out of 14) games that he didn’t get to the stripe. That type of aggressiveness is what you want to see.
Plus, his monster game (29 points, 9 rebounds) against the Mono Vampires was fun to watch.
Also stepping up with Jukrawan is his running mate since high school, Attaphong Leelapipatkul.
Stats: 3.7 PPG, 2.0 RPG, 1.3 APG, 54.2 eFG%
His stats are barely overwhelming: 3.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.3 assists. Those are well-rounded numbers for a back-up point guard, but nothing too exciting. His shooting numbers seem to be off the charts (45.8 FG%, 51.7 3P%, 87.5 FT%) but that was probably inflated with his small sample space of shot attempts. It’s not Leelapipatkul’s numbers that impress, but more of how he holds himself and how he plays. For a kid who had just turned 18 this calendar year, Leelapipatkul does quite a decent job handling what is arguably one of the most complex positions of the game. He’s super skinny and his scoring prowess needs a lot of work, but his basketball IQ seems to be significantly ahead of his peers.
Stats: 8.8 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 2.1 APG, 14.9 AST%
Capping of the TGE Triple Teenager Tandem is Kittithep Dasom. The third Dasom brother is playing in his second TBL season and he’s already made quite a leap:
Kittithep Dasom 2015: 3.5 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 1.5 APG, 12.3 MPG
Kittithep Dasom 2016: 8.8 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 2.1 APG, 22.9 MPG
As Coach Aphaiphong Netsirisawan might have hinted at the start of the season, he expected a lot from Dason this year. Apparently, it was enough for him to let Dasom lead all locals on his team in minutes per game. Even though Dasom didn’t become an instant star, he did enough to maintain his efficiency. For now, that might actually be enough. All he needs to work on now is his shot (18.5% on 4.6 three point attempts per game is not good) and he can move a step closer to being one of the premier guards in this league.
Stats: 8.3 PPG, 4.8 RPG, 1.0 APG, 27.5 3P%
Anucha Langsui would have been on this list for the past two years if:
a) I had wrote this sort of article for TBL 2014
b) he hadn’t been injured in TBL 2015
Hobbled with an injury throughout all of last season for PEA, Langsui finally broke free and signed on with new team, OSK R Airlines. Coach Prasert Siripojanakul has had his eyes on Langsui since his coaching days with the Mono Vampires, so when he got a chance to create a new team from scratch, he made sure Langsui was on the top of his list. The 22-year-old played the second most minutes on his team (24.8 MPG) and scored the most points on his team among locals (8.8 PPG). Langsui has an interesting combination of length, height, agility, and a relatively sweet stroke. He sometimes falls in love with the three point shot more than he should (and the OSK system of firing threes at will doesn’t really help), but it’s an intriguing set of skills he has on the table right now.
Word is that he is being considered heavily for the Thailand NT FIBA Asia Challenge squad.
Stats: 6.5 PPG, 6.7 RPG, 75.0 FT%, 47.3 eFG%
The four aforementioned Fresh Five members have already played one season in the TBL so they aren’t technically rookies any longer. However, the final member of the Fresh Five also happens to be the freshest of the five.
Peeranat Semeesuk’s success in the TBL might come as a surprise to the casual fan, but those in the Mono Vampires camp had seen this coming for a while. It’s pretty hard to crack the rotation in a team as stacked as the Vampires, but when you finally do, it means you should be pretty ready. ฺSemeesuk boasts a solid line of 6.5 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting 47.3 FG% and 75 FT%. Semeesuk is only one of five locals in the TBL to record multiple double-doubles.
Semeesuk only recently turned 21 and is classmates with highly touted team mate, Teerawat Jantajon. The fact that the Mono Vampires have two of the brightest inside prospects on their team is a pretty unfair.
PS. Jantajon didn’t make the Fresh Five both this year and last year because of the same old problems. Injuries.

ได้เวลาอีกแล้ว!!! ช่วงฤดูกาลปกติของ ไทยแลนด์บาสเกตบอลลีก 2016 กำลังปิดฉากลงไป ซึ่งก็หมายความ…ถึงเวลาสำหรับการแจกจ่ายรางวัลปิดท้ายฤดูกาลจาก Tones & Definition อีกครั้ง (ถึงแม้จะไม่มีความหมายอะไรเพราะเราก็เป็นเพียงสื่อเล็กๆ อย่างไม่เป็นทางการเกี่ยวกับบาสเกตบอล)!!
ก่อนที่เราจะเริ่มกัน ขอบอกหน่อยว่า ใครที่พลาดไม่ได้ติดตามฤดูกาลนี้ไป ถือว่า ค่อนข้างที่จะพลาด เพราะมีเรื่องราวอะไรหลายๆ อย่าง สุดมันส์เกิดขึ้นแทบจะในทุกๆ เกม
ถ้ามีเวลา ผมก็อยากจะเขียนบทความสรุปเรื่องราวต่างๆ ไว้คร่าวๆ มาแบ่งปันก่อน

ใครที่ติดตามมาตั้งแต่ปีที่แล้ว จะเห็นว่า ผมตัดเอารางวัลสนุกๆ อย่าง ทรงผมยอดเยี่ยม, สนามยอดเยี่ยม (ซึ่งก็แน่ละ มันเหลือสนามแข่งสนามเดียว), และ ก็รองเท้ายอดเยี่ยม ออกไป ทั้งหมดนี้ด้วยเหตุผลที่รางวัลพวกนี้ไม่ค่อยมีใครสนใจเท่าไหร่…แล้วก็ด้วยความขี้เกียจล้วนๆ

ผู้เล่นป้องกันยอดเยี่ยม ประจำ TBL 2016
ปีที่แล้ว ผมแยกออกรางวัลผู้เล่นป้องกันยอดเยี่ยม เป็นประเภทผู้เล่นไทย กับ ผู้เล่นต่างชาติ ซึ่งก็เป็น “เสือ” ภูมินทร์ สิงหเสม (โมโน ทิวฯ) และ แอนโธนี่ แมคเคลน (โมโน แวมไพร์) ที่คว้ารางวัลไปตามลำดับ แต่ในปีนี้ ผมก็พึงตระหนักได้ว่า คนจะป้องกันได้ดี มันต้องแยกแยะกันด้วยสัญชาติด้วยเรอะ?! ไม่ใข่ว่าใครป้องกันดี ก็ป้องกันดีเรอะ?!
ก่อนที่จะแจกรางวัลในครั้งนี้ ก็ต้องบอกก่อนว่า มาตรฐานเกมป้องกันในปีนี้…ตกลงไปพอสมควร
ทีมไฮเทค เปลี่ยนจากทีมที่มีการป้องกันเป็นระบบแน่หนา โดยมี สตีฟ โธมัส ยืนค้ำ มาเป็นทีมที่มีพลังบุกรุนแรงด้วยสามประสาน เฟรดดี้ ลิช, ไทเลอร์ แลมบ์, และ คีอาล่า คิง
ทาง โมโน แวมไพร์ เองก็เปลี่ยนมาใช้การป้องกันแบบระบบประสาน ต่างจากที่ให้ แอนโธนี่ แมคเคลน เป็นศูนย์กลางปีที่แล้ว แต่ปัญหาเรื่องการวนตัวต่างชาติในช่วงต้นฤดูกาลก็ทำให้เป็นเรื่องยากที่จะสร้างระบบการป้องกันที่คงที่ เช่นเดียวกันกับ OSK R Airlines ที่ได้ตัวผู้เล่นป้องกันดีๆ แบบ จอน เครฟท์ และ สตีฟ โธมัส แต่กว่าจะวนตัวผู้เล่นต่างชาติจนคงที่ได้ ก็เกือบจะจบฤดูกาลไปแล้ว
กลายเป็นทีม แมดโกทส์ ที่เป็นทีมที่ป้องกันได้ดีที่สุดอย่างเงียบๆ ทีมแพะบ้าเสียแต้มน้อยที่สุดในลีก (76.4 แต้มต่อเกม) ซึ่งก็เป็นผลสืบเนื่องจากการป้องกันให้ทีมตรงข้ามยิงสามแต้มน้อยที่สุดในลีก (21.7 ครั้งต่อเกม) อีกทั้งทีมตรงข้ามยังยิงสามแต้มลงด้วยอัตราที่แย่ที่สุดในลีกอีกด้วย (22.7%) นอกจากนี้ แมดโกทส์ ยังปล่อยให้ทีมตรงข้ามยิงลูกโทษน้อยที่สุดอีก (16.3 ครั้งต่อเกม) ทั้งหมดนี้ รวมกันแล้ว ได้เป็นทีมที่เกมป้องกันดูดีเลย
ว่าไปนั่น เกริ่นมานาน มาดูกันกับ ผู้เล่นป้องกันยอดเยี่ยม ประจำ TBL 2016 เลย!!

มาเริ่มกับ แมกนัม โรลล์ ก่อนเลยดีกว่า ค่อนข้างจะเห็นได้ชัดว่า แมกนัม เป็นศูนย์กลางของเกมป้องกันของ แมดโกทส์ การผสมผสานของ ความยาว ความเร็ว และ ความคล่องตัว ทำให้เกมบุกของฝั่งตรงข้ามเดินไปข้างหน้าอย่างยากลำบากมากขึ้น เขาทำบล็อกช็อตได้มากที่สุดในลีก (1.8 ครั้งต่อเกม) แต่ตัวเลขนี้ ยังสื่อถึงผลกระทบของเกมรับของแมกนัมได้อย่างเต็มที่เท่าไหร่นัก ด้วยความยาว และ ความคล่องตัว ทำให้เขาสามารถป้องกันได้คลอมคลุมพื้นที่ที่กว้างขวางมาก จุดนี้ ทำให้ผู้เล่นวงนอกของ แมดโกทส์ สามารถที่จะออกไปกดดันฝ่ายบุกได้มากขึ้น เพราะสามารถไว้ใจแมกนัมได้ ในเกมใต้แป้น
แมกนัม เป้นคนที่คอยตะโกนเตือนผู้เล่นของทีมตัวเองอยู่ตลอดเวลา ทุกคนจึงมีความตื่นตัวในการป้องกันอยู่เสมอ มันเป็นอะไรที่ตัวเลข หรือ สถิติ อะไรจะมาวัดได้ยาก ซึ่งมันทำให้ผมมอบรางวัลผู้เล่นป้องกันยอดเยี่ยมให้แมกนัมได้ไม่ยาก
มาดูกันต่อกับผู้เล่นอีกคนดีกว่า…
“ต่อ” ธนสิทธิ มูลวงศ์ อาจจะไม่ใช่ชื่อที่ติดหูแฟนๆ ในวงกว้างเท่าไหร่นัก เขาไม่เคยติดทีมชาติชุดใหญ่ และไม่เคยเป็นผู้เล่นที่รับบทบาทใหญ่ๆ ในทีมใหญ่ๆ เช่นเดียวกัน
แต่สำหรับคนที่อาจจะไม่ได้มีชื่อเสียงมากมาย หรือ มีสกิลการทำแต้มที่หวือหวา ต่อ ธนสิทธิ กลับเป็นผู้เล่นที่มีบทบาทสำคัญมากๆ ในทีม สโมสรการไฟฟ้า ปีนี้
ถึงแม้ว่าจะทำแต้มได้เพียง 1.1 แต้มต่อเกม ธนสิทธิ ได้ลงเล่นถึง 20.6 นาทีต่อเกม อีกทั้งยังลงเล่นทั้ง 14 เกมด้วย ความสำคัญของเขาตรงนี้ ที่ทำให้โค้ชกฤต ไพโรจน์พีระไพศาล วางใจจะใช้งาน คือ เกมป้องกันนี่แหละ นอกจากจะขี้ขโมย ทำสตีล 1.2 ครั้งต่อเกมแล้ว ธนสิทธิ ยังถือว่าเป็นตัวจับตายของการไฟฟ้าอีกด้วย ตลอดทั้งฤดูกาลเขาต้องตามประกบติดทั้ง โมเสส มอร์แกน ทั้ง เอเวอร์รี่ ชาร์เรอร์ และ คนอื่นๆ อีกมากมาย
ผมเข้าใจ ว่า อาจจะมีหลายคนที่สงสัยและแคลงใจกับการเลือกให้รางวัลในครั้งนี้ แต่ผมแค่รู้สึกว่า เกมรับของ ธนสิทธิ เป็นอะไรที่ควรจะต้องมีคนชี้แจ้งออกมาให้เห็นบ้าง ไม่แน่ว่า ภายใต้สภาพแวดล้อมที่แตกต่างออกไป และ ระบบอื่นๆ เขาอาจจะแสดงศักยภาพออกมาได้มากกว่านี้ก็เป็นไปได้
ผู้เล่น World Import ยอดเยี่ยม ประจำ TBL 2016
ปีนี้ใน TBL เรามีทั้งหมด 8 ทีม แต่ละทีมก็มีสิทธิในการเซ็นตัวผู้เล่นต่างชาติทีมละ 2 คน ทำให้เราได้เห็นนักบาสต่างชาติเข้ามาเพ่นพ่านใน TBL หลายคนอยู่เหมือนกัน เพื่อให้เห็นภาพมากขึ้น เรามาไล่รายชื่อทีละคนเลยดีกว่า:

เพื่อให้การตัดสินใจของผมง่ายขึ้นมาหน่อย ผมตัดสินใจไม่พิจารณาเหล่าตัวต่างชาติที่เข้ามาร่วมช่วงครึ่งฤดูกาลหลัง ซึ่งก็หมายความว่า ทั้ง จอร์แกน คอลลินส์ และ สตีฟ โธมัส (ที่ช่วงชิงรางวัลนี้ปีที่แล้ว) ทั้ง เรจจี้ จอห์นสัน และ นาเกีย มิลเลอร์ (ที่เป็น MVP ของ ABL มาแล้วทั้งคู่) ทั้ง ราชาด เบลล์ (ที่ทำไป 31.8 ต่อเกม อีกทั้งยังเคยเล่นใน PBA มาอีกด้วย) ทั้งหมดที่กล่าวมานี้ หมดสิทธิ!!!!
ต่อมา ผมก็ลำบากใจในการตัด เลนนี่ แดเนี่ยล (เทียบกันแล้ว ยังไม่มีประสิทธิภาพเท่าที่ควร), เธอรอน ลอเดอร์มิลล์ (อาจจะดูหลุดๆ ลอยๆ บ่อยเกินไป), ไมเคิล เอิร์ล & มอรีซ ชอว์ (แพ้เยอะไปหน่อย), และ คีอาล่า คิง (ดึงจังหวะเกมบุกของทีมมากไปหน่อย) ทุกคนล้วนแต่เป็นผู้เล่นที่ยอดเยี่ยม…แต่ผมก็ต้องทำสิ่งที่ผมต้องทำ
คนที่ทำใจตัดออกไปยากที่สุดก็คงเป็น เรย์มอน ออสติน ซึ่งบาดเจ็บ เอ็นไขว้ด้านข้าง (MCL) ฮีก และ ต้องเปลี่ยนตัวอย่างน่าเสียดาย มาดูสถิติของออสติน ก่อนที่จะบาดเจ็บกันดีกว่า
เรย์มอน ออสติน: 19.7 แต้ม, 14.4 รีบาวด์, 36.8 3P%, 49.6 eFG%, 1.3 แอสสิสต์, 1.7 สตีล
ถ้าหากว่าเขาไม่เจ็บ และ สามารถเล่นได้อย่างคงที่ตลอดทั้งฤดูกาล ผมว่า รายชื่อคนที่ลุ้นรางวัลผู้เล่น World Import ยอดเยี่ยม คงจะไม่เหลือแค่สองคนต่อไปนี้อย่างแน่นอน:
แมกนัม โรลล์: 18.8 แต้ม (อันดับ 6), 14.8 รีบาวด์ (อันดับ 1), 3.7 แอสสิสต์ (อันดับ 3), 1.8 บล็อค (อันดับ 1), 1.3 สตีล
จัสติน ฮาวเวิร์ด: 15.6 แต้ม (อันดับ 10), 10.8 รีบาวด์ (อันดับ 4), 0.9 แอสสิสต์, 1.3 บล็อค (อันดับ 3), 1.2 สตีล
มองดูกันแว่บแรก ทุกคนคงคิดว่า แมกนัม โรลล์ น่าจะได้รางวัลนี้ไปอย่างไม่น่ามีข้อครหา แมกนัมนั้นเล่นได้อย่างโดดเด่นทั้งเกมรุก และ เกมรับ และมีหลายๆ ครั้งที่มีความรู้สึกว่า เขาสามารถทำอะไรก็ได้ ถ้าเขาอยากที่จะทำจริงๆ
นอกจากนี้แล้วการดูแมกนัมเล่น ต้องยอมรับว่า “บันเทิง” กว่าดู จัสตินเล่นพอสมควร
แต่!!! เรามาดูสถิติของ ฮาวเวิร์ดกันในเชิงลึกมากกว่านี้ซักหน่อยดีกว่า
จริงอยู่ว่า ถ้าเทียบกันตรงๆ กับ สถิติของ แมกนัม มันดูจืดชืดกว่า…แต่ก็ต้องพิจารณาด้วยว่า ฮาวเวิร์ดนั้นเล่นเพียง 20.6 นาทีต่อเกม อีกทั้งยังต้องแบ่งภาระเกมบุกกับทั้ง ไทเลอร์ แลมป์, เฟรดดี้ ลิช, และ คีอาล่า คิง อีกด้วย และถึงขนาดนั้น เขายังทำสถิติที่ยอดเยี่ยมขนาดนั้นได้เลย
ถึงเวลาตัสินใจแล้วสินะ
ถ้าผมทำได้ ผมคงจะให้รางวัลนี้กับทั้งสองคนเลย ให้ตายเถอะ

แต่ก็นะ…คำว่า “ผู้เล่น World Import ยอดเยี่ยม” บางที ก็ควรจะต้องชี้ชัดเด็ดขาดไปเลย ว่า ใครที่มัน ยอดเยี่ยม ที่สุดจริงๆ
เอาละวะ ถ้าต้องเลือกจริงๆ ระหว่างสองคนนี้ ผู้เล่น World Import ยอดเยี่ยม ประจำ TBL 2016 คือ
แมกนัม โรลล์, แมดโกทส์
ผมเพียงแค่รู้สึกว่า “บทบาท” ของแมกนัม โรลล์ มีความสำคัญกับ แมดโกทส์ มากกว่า “บทบาท” ของ จัสติน ฮาวเวิร์ด กับ ไฮเทค ถ้าลองเอา โรลล์ ออกจากเกมของ แมดโกทส์ ก็จะเห็นได้ค่อนข้างชัดถึงความแตกต่าง
จัสติน เป็นผู้เล่นที่ยอดเยี่ยม แต่ผมเพียงรู้สึกว่า ไฮเทคน่าจะเอาตัวรอดได้ดดีกว่า ถ้าไม่มีจัสติน เทียบกับการที่ แมดโกทส์ ขาด แมกนัม ไป
ผู้เล่น ASEAN Import ยอดเยี่ยม ประจำ TBL 2016
ในปีนี้ TBL ได้ทดลองใช้ระบบ ASEAN Import ที่ใช้กันอย่างสนุกสนานใน ABL และมันก็ได้ช่วยส่งเสริมในเรื่องความสนุกสนานของการแข่งขันได้ดีมาก ทีมท้ายตารางอย่าง ดังกิน แรพเตอร์ส มีหวังในการแข่งแต่ละเกมมากขึ้นด้วยการเสริมเอาตัวทำแต้มชาวฟิลิปปินส์ อย่าง แพตทริก คาบาฮุก เข้ามา (ที่ทำแต้มไป 22.1 แต้มต่อเกม) ชาวฟิลิปปินส์ อีกคน เลสเตอน์ อัลวาเรซ ก็เข้ามาช่วยเหลือในเรื่องความนิ่งให้กับทีมพลังหนุ่มอย่าง ไทยเครื่องสนาม ทางสโมสรการไฟฟ้าฯ ก็ได้ เจฟฟ์ วีแอร์เนซ ชาวฟิลิปปินส์ อีกคน มาช่วยในเรื่องการทำแต้ม ถึงแม้ว่า ท้ายที่สุดแล้วจะไม่สามารถพาทีมเข้าฝั่งฝันได้ตามที่คาดหวังไว้
ทีมแมดโกทส์ใช้กฏข้อใหม่ข้อนี้อย่างสร้างสรรค์ที่สุด และมีการเปลี่ยน ASEAN Import ถึง 2 ครั้ง เริ่มต้นจากการเซ็น โดมินิค ดาร์ ชาวเขมร แล้วก็มาเปลี่ยนเป็น ลูกครึ่งหลากสัญชาติอย่าง เควิน แวนฮุก ก่อนที่ท้ายที่สุดจะเอาลูกครึ่งฟิลิปปินส์-อเมริกัน เอจี มานดานี่ มาใช้จนปิดฤดูกาล
ทุกคนเข้ามาเสริมบทบาทให้ทีมได้อย่างโดดเด่นก็จริง แต่ยอมรับเถอะ ว่ารางวัลนี้ มันต้องเป็นของ “คนๆ นี้” เท่านั้น
และนี่คือ ผู้เล่น ASEAN Import ยอดเยี่ยม ประจำ TBL 2016!
เอเวอร์รี่ ชาร์เรอร์, OSK R Airlines
จริงๆ แล้ว มันไม่ขาดขนาดนั้นก็ได้ เจฟฟ์ วีแอร์เนซ เองก็เล่นได้ในระดับที่เรียกว่า “โคตรเทพ” แต่ ในจุดนี้ ชาเรอร์ ได้เปรียบตรงที่ OSK มันเข้ารอบเพลย์ออฟนะสิ
มาลองเทียบสถิติกันดูหน่อยก็ได้
เจฟฟ์ วีแอร์เนซ: 22.1 แต้ม (อันดับ 4), ุ6.9 รีบาวด์, 2.5 แอสสิสต์ (อันดับ 6), 1.1 สตีล, 33.2 FG%
เอเวอร์รี่ ชาเรอร์: 22.4 แต้ม (อันดับ 2), 8.9 รีบาวด์ (อันดับ 5), 4.3 แอสสิสต์ (อันดับ 1), 2.2 สตีล (อันดับ 3), 40.3 FG%
สถิติของวีแอร์เนซมันสุดยอดก็จริง แต่ สถิติของชาเรอร์มันสุดยอดเหนือไปอีกขั้นหนึ่ง ไม่ต่างกันกับตอนที่เขาเล่นให้ เคแอล ดรากอนส์ ใน ABL ชาเรอร์เป็นคนที่คุมจังหวะของทีม OSK R Airlines เช่นเดียวกัน และเมื่อไหร่ที่เครื่องติดขึ้นมา OSK ก็ดูเป็นทีมสุดแกร่งขึ้นมาทันที
อย่างน้อย ชาเรอร์ ก็ได้ทำตามเป้าหมายตอนต้นฤดูกาลที่ตัวเองวางไว้ คือ การที่ทำให้ทีม OSK เป็นทีมที่น่าตื่นตาตื่นใจที่สุดในลีก
5 ผู้เล่นหน้าใหม่ไฟแรง ประจำ TBL 2016
จริงๆ แล้วส่วนนี้เป็นส่วนที่ผมชื่นชอบเป็นการส่วนตัวมากที่สุด การพูดถึงอนาคต และ การจินตนาการถึงความ “เป็นไปได้” มันเป็นอะไรที่พูดคุยได้อย่างมีอรรถรสเสมอ
สำหรับรายการนี้ ขอเพียงแค่ เป็นนักกีฬาที่อายุไม่เกิน 22 ปี และเล่นได้ดีอย่างโดดเด่น คุณก็สามารถจะมีรายชื่อติดได้
ก่อนที่เราจะมาดูสำหรับรายชื่อของปีนี้…มาดูรายชื่อตัวปีที่แล้วกันซักหน่อยดีกว่า ว่าเป็นอย่างไรกันบ้าง:

ผมค่อนข้างจะหวังกับ “เคน” ภูษิต และ “ปาล์ม” ปฏิภาณ ไว้สูงพอสมควร ปีที่แล้วทั้งคู่ต่างก็ทำคะแนนได้ในระดับสองหลักทั้งคู่ ถึงแม้ว่าจะเป็นเพราะการเล่นให้กับทีมสองทีมล่างของลีก
ในปีนี้ ภูษิต ถูกสโมสรการไฟฟ้า เรียกตัวมาในช่วงกลางฤดูกาลเพื่อมาช่วยในเรื่องของเกมบุก…แต่ภูษิตก็กลับยังช่วยอะไรมากไม่ได้ โดยทำไปได้เพียง 4.7 แต้ม และยิง 25.0%
อาจจะดูไม่ค่อยสมกับราคา “5 ผู้เล่นยอดเยี่ยม ทีมสอง ประจำ TBL 2015” เท่าไหร่นัก
ในขณะที่ ภูษิต หายหน้าหายตาไปจากวงการบาสไทยตั้งแต่ TBL 2015 จน TBL 2016 ทาง ปฏิภาณ นั้นกลับโผล่หน้ามาให้เห็นเรื่อยๆ โดยจุดเด่นคงเป็นตอนที่เขาถูกเรียกติดทีมชาติชุด SEABA Stankovic Cup ที่ผ่านมา ใน TBL ปีนี้ ปฏิภาณ เริ่มต้นกับทีม ไทยเครื่องสนาม แต่ผลงานกลับไม่ดีเท่าปีที่แล้ว อาจจะสืบเนื่องจากกฏ ASEAN Import ที่ทำให้ทีมไปพึ่งพาการบุกของ เลสเตอร์ อัลวาเรซมากขึ้น
อย่างไรก็ตาม ปฏิภาณ โชว์ฟอร์มที่ดีพอที่จะได้ รับการเลื่อนขั้น ย้ายทีมไปไฮเทค ตอนที่ย้ายไปไฮเทคนั้น อาจจะได้ลงเล่นแค่เพียง 11.6 นาทีต่อเกมก็จริง แต่การที่ทำแต้มได้ถึง 6.2 แต้มต่อเกม อีกทั้งเก็บรีบาวด์ 3.8 ครั้งต่อเกม ทำให้เขายังเป็นดาวรุ่งที่น่าจับตามองอยู่เหมือนเดิม
เพื่อนร่วมรุ่นของ ปฏิภาณ อย่าง “แฟร์” อนัสวีย์ แกล้วณรงค์ เริ่มต้นฤดูกาลอย่างมีความหวังมากกว่าใครเพื่อนด้วยการถูกเรียกตัวไปติดทีม ไฮเทค หลังจากที่อยู่กับทีมไทยเครื่องสนามตลอดปีที่ผ่านมา
แต่ท้ายสุดแล้ว แฟร์ กลับไม่ได้ลงเล่นเท่าไหร่นัก ได้ลงเล่นเพียงกะปิดกะปรอย ในช่วงเวลาท้ายเกมที่แต้มขาดเป็นส่วนใหญ่ ตรงนี้ ต้องยอมรับว่า เกมสมัยใหม่มีจังหวะการเล่นที่รวดเร็วมากขึ้น และผู้เล่นแต่ละคนต้องเล่นได้อย่างหลากหลายมากขึ้น ทาง อนัสวีย์ เองก็ต้องหาทางปรับตัวเข้ากับเกมสมัยใหม่ให้โค้ชมีมิติในการใช้งานมากขึ้นด้วย
ส่วนทาง ริชาร์ด เลธาม ปีนี้ก็สลัดหลุดจากโซ่ตรวนของ สโมสรการไฟฟ้าฯ และไปร่วมกับทีม แมดโกทส์ ซึ่งดูแล้วก็เป็นผลที่ดีกับเจ้าตัวพอสมควร ในเกมแรกเกมเดียว เขาลงเล่นไป 36 นาที…ซึ่งมากกว่าเวลาที่เข้าลงเล่นตลอดทั้งฤดูกาลกับ สโมสรการไฟฟ้าฯ ซะอีก (22 นาที)!! รูปแบบและความลื่นไหลในการทำแต้มของ ริชาร์ดยังต้องปรับปรุงอีกมาก (32.4%) และยังมีความจำกัดในการบุกอยู่พอสมควร แต่ในทางเดียวกัน แมดโกทส์ เองก็ไม่ได้ต้องการเกมบุกจากริชาร์ด เขาทำได้โอเค ในบทบาทการเล่นลูกฮึกและการป้องกันสำหรับทีมนี้
และปีนี้ เขาก็อายุเพียง 21 เท่านั้นเอง ยังพัฒนาได้อีกแน่นอน
ส่วนทาง ชนาธิป จักรวาฬ เดี๋ยวเราจะมาพูดถึงในอีกซักประเดี๋ยว…
เอาละ มาดูกันกับรายชื่อ 5 ผู้เล่นหน้าใหม่ไฟแรงประจำ TBL 2016 ได้เลยจ๊า!

ปีนี้ก็เป็นปีที่สองติดต่อกันที่ทีม ไทยเครื่องสนาม มีนักกีฬาในสังกัดที่ติดรายชื่อ 5 ผู้เล่นหน้าใหม่ไฟแรง ถึง 3 คนด้วยกัน มาดูคนแรกที่ติดรายชื่อเป็นปีที่สองเลยดีกว่า กับ น้องโอห์ม ชนาธิป จักรวาฬ
สถิติ: 7.9 แต้ม, 4.9 รีบาวด์, 0.7 บล็อค, อัตราการบล็อค 2.5%
จากปีที่แล้วเป็นนักกีฬาที่มีอายุน้อยที่สุดเป็นอันดับที่ 3 ปีนี้เลื่อนลงมาเป็น อันดับที่ 6 ด้วยอายุเพียง 19.5 ปี ถึงกระนั้น ชนาธิป ยังได้รับบทบาทในทีมที่สำคัญ และได้ลงเล่นทั้งหมด 19.4 นาทีต่อเกม (สูงที่สุดเป็นอันดับที่ 4 ในทีม) ผมยังคิดว่าเขาคงต้องไปเสริมความแข็งแรงมากกว่านี้ ก่อนที่จะเป็นตัววงในที่น่ากลัว แต่แค่นี้ก็เอาทีมตรงข้ามปวดหัวกับความยาวพอสมควรแล้วแหละ เช่นเดียวกัน ความเป๊ะในการเคลื่อนไหวเกมป้องกันก็ยังต้องปรับปรุง (อายุขนาดนี้ ก็เป็นกันทุกคนแหละ) แต่สิ่งที่เขาพัฒนาขึ้นมามากในปีนี้ คือเรื่องของเกมบุก ที่ดูเหมือนจะ “เน้น” มากกว่าเดิม มาดูสถิติของปีที่แล้ว เทียบกับปีนี้หน่อยดีกว่า:

การยิงลงด้วยอัตรา 41.9% อาจจะยังไม่ค่อยน่าตื่นตาตื่นใจเท่าไหร่นัก แต่มันก็ดีกว่า 31.5% ที่ทำได้ปีที่แล้วค่อนข้างมาก และนั่นคืออัตราการพัฒนาที่ทุกๆ อย่างเห็นจาก ชนาธิป
ในปีที่แล้ว จากการลงเล่น 8 เกม มีทั้งหมด 4 เกมที่ ชนาธิป ไม่ได้ยิงลูกโทษเลยแม้แต่ครั้งเดียว พอมาในปีนี้ จากการแข่ง 14 เกม มีเพียง 3 เกมเท่านั้น ที่เขาไม่โดนฟาวล์ไปยิงลูกโทษ นี่คือความดุดันที่เราอยากเห็นมากขึ้นจากเขา
เกมที่น่าติดตามดู คือ เกมที่ ชนาธิปทำไป 29 แต้มและ 9 รีบาวด์ ในเกมที่เจอกับ โมโน แวมไพร์ ซึ่งเราจะได้เห็นศักยภาพของชนาธิปถูกปลดปล่อยออกมาค่อนข้างมากในเกมนี้
นอกจากชนาธิปแล้วก็มีเพื่อนร่วมรุ่นและร่วมโรงเรียนมัธยมปลาย “เตเต้” อรรถพงษ์ ลีลาพิพัฒน์กุล ที่พัฒนาก้าวขึ้นมาพอสมควรเช่นเดียวกัน
สถิติ: 3.7 แต้ม, 2.0 รีบาวด์, 1.3 แอสสิสต์, ประสิทธิภาพการทำแต้ม 54.2%
สถิติโดยรวมของ “เตเต้” อรรถพงษ์ ลีลาพิพัฒน์กุล อาจจะไม่ได้หวือหวาอะไรมากนัก และถึงแม้ว่าสถิติอัตราการยิงลงจะค่อนข้างสูง (45.8 FG%, 51.7 3P%, 87.5 FT%) แต่ส่วนหนึ่งก็เพราะว่าตัวเขาเองก็ไม่ได้ยิงบ่อยเท่าไหร่นัก
สิ่งที่น่าประทับใจสำหรับอรรถพงษ์ ไม่ใช่เรื่องสถิติ แต่เป็นวิธีการเล่น และ รูปแบบการเล่นที่ดูมีภูมิฐานมากกง่าไอ้เด็กเมื่อวานซืนที่เพิ่งอายุครบ 18 ปี การเล่นตำแหน่งการ์ดจ่าย เรียกได้ว่าเป็นตำแหน่งที่ยุ่งยากมากที่สุดในการเล่นบาสก็ว่าได้ แต่ อรรถพงษ์ก็ทำได้ค่อนข้างดี
รูปร่างของเขาอาจจะผอมบางไปซักหน่อย และ ต้องพัฒนาเรื่องการทำคะแนนค่อนข้างมาก แต่ถ้าวัดกันในเรื่องความเข้าใจเกม ก็ต้องถือว่า เต้ อรรถพงษ์ มีภาษีกว่าเพื่อนร่วมรุ่นหลายๆ คน
สถิติ: 8.8 แต้ม, 4.4 รีบาวด์, 2.1 แอสสิสต์, อัตราการแอสสิสต์ 14.9%
ปิดรวมสรุปสามหนุ่มวัยรุ่นของไทยเครื่องสนาม คือ “แฟรงกี้” กิตติเทพ ดาโสม ในปีนี้ ก็เป็นปีที่สองของน้องคนเล็กตระกูล ดาโสม ในการเล่นบาสเกตบอล อาชีพ กับลีก TBL และในปีนี้ เขาก็พัฒนาไปค่อนข้างมากเลยทีเดียว:
กิตติเทพ ดาโสม 2015: 3.5 แต้ม, 2.6 รีบาวด์, 1.5 แอสสิสต์, 12.3 นาที
กิตติเทพ ดาโสม 2016: 8.8 แต้ม, 4.4 รีบาวด์, 2.1 แอสสิสต์, 22.9 นาที
อย่างที่ โค้ชเก่ง อภัยพงษ์ เนตรศิริสวรรค์ ได้เกริ่นไว้ก่อนเริ่มฤดูกาล เขามีความคาดหวังกับ กิตติเทพ พอสมควร ซึ่งก็เห็นได้จากการที่ โค้ชเก่ง วางในให้ กิตติเทพเป็น คนไทยที่ลงเล่นมากที่สุดในทีม แม้ว่า กิตติเทพ จะยังไม่ใช่ “สตาร์” แต่เขาก็ทำได้ดีในการรักษาประสิทธิภาพการเล่นจากปีที่แล้ว ซึ่ง ณ จุดๆ นี้ แค่นั้นก็อาจจะพอแล้ว ตอนนี้เขาต้องกลับไปพัฒนาเรื่องการยิง (เพราะว่าการยิงสามแต้ม 18.5% จากการยิง 4.6 ครั้งต่อเกมมันดูไม่ค่อยดีเท่าไหร่นัก) ซึ่งถ้าเขาทำได้ ก็จะทำให้น่ากลัวขึ้นอีกระดับหนึ่ง
สถิติ: 8.3 แต้ม, 4.8 รีบาวด์, 1.0 แอสสิสต์, อัตราการยิงสามแต้มลง 27.5%
จริงๆ แล้ว “ตุ้ม” อนุชา ลังสุ่ย น่าจะติดรายชื่อ 5 ผู้เล่นหน้าใหม่ไฟแรงเมื่อสองปีที่ผ่านมา ถ้าหากว่า:
ก) ผมได้เขียนบทความแนวนี้ สำหรับ TBL 2014
ข) เขาไม่ได้บาดเจ็บจนแทบไม่ได้เล่นเลยใน TBL 2015
ตลอดช่วงปีที่ผ่านมา อนุชา มีปัญหาเรื่องอาการบาดเจ็บเรื้อรังจนแทบไม่ได้ลงเล่นให้กับ สโมสรการไฟฟ้าฯ เลย แต่มาในปีนี้ เขาก็ได้ไปเซ็นกับสโมสรใหม่ คือ OSK R Airlines ทางโค้ชเส็ง ประเสริฐ ศิริพจนากุลนั้นเล็ง อนุชา ไว้ตั้งแต่สมัยที่คุม โมโน แวมไพร์ พอเขาได้โอกาสในการสร้างทีมใหม่จาก 0 ที่สโมสร OSK เขาจึงไม่รีรอที่จะจัดการคว้าตัว อนุชา มาเข้าร่วมทัพทันที หนุ่มวัย 22 ปีลงเล่นมากที่สุดเป็นอันดับสองในทีม (24.8 นาทีต่อเกม) อีกทั้งยังทำแต้มมากที่สุดในบรรดาคนไทยด้วย (8.8 แต้มต่อเกม) ส่วนผสมที่น่าสนใจของความสูง ความยาว ความคล่องตัว และ การยิงที่ไหลลื่น ทำให้เขาเป็นคนที่น่าสนใจมาก
บางเขาอาจจะหลงไหลการยิงสามแต้มมากเกินไปหน่อย (อีกทั้งระบบเกมบุกของ OSK ยังสนับสนุนให้ยิงสามแต้มอีกด้วย) แต่สกิลที่เขามีตอนนี้ ถือว่าน่าจับปั้นมากๆ
ตอนนี้ก็มีข่าวลือว่า จะได้รับการพิจารณาให้ติดทีมชาติไทยชุดลุย FIBA Asia Challenge อีกด้วย
สถิติ: 6.5 แต้ม, 6.7 รีบาวด์, อัตราการยิงลูกโทษลง 75.0%, ประสิทธิภาพการทำแต้ม 47.3%
ผู้เล่น 4 คนที่กล้าวมาก่อนหน้านี้ ต่างก็เคยเล่นใน TBL มาแล้วอย่างน้อย 1 ฤดูกาล เพราะฉะนั้น จึงไม่สามารถเรียกได้เต็มปากเต็มคำเท่าไหร่ ว่าเป็น “หน้าใหม่” แต่คนสุดท้ายที่จะกล่าวถึงนี่ น่าจะเป็นคนที่หน้าใหม่ที่สุด และ ไฟแรงที่สุดคนหนึ่งใน 5 คนนี้เลย “พี” พีรณัฐ เสมมีสุข นั่นเอง
ความสำเร็จของ พีรณัฐ อาจจะเหมือนว่ามาจากไหนก็ไม่รู้ สำหรับแฟนบาสทั่วไป แต่สำหรับคนที่วนเวียนอยู่ในค่ายสังกัดของ โมโน แวมไพร์ ก็มองเห็นไว้อยู่แล้วว่าจะเป็นแบบนี้
การที่อยู่ โฒโน แวมไพร์ ก็ต้องแย่งเวลาลงเล่นกับผู้เล่นระดับสูงๆ หลายๆ คน เพราะฉะนั้น พอถึงเวลาที่ได้โอกาสลงเล่นจริงๆ มักจะแปลว่า คุณพร้อมแล้ว สำหรับสถิติของพีรณัฐก็ดูสวยหรูพอสมควรเลยทีเดียว อีกทั้งยังเป็นหนึ่งในห้าผู้เล่นคนไทยที่ทำ ดับเบิ้ล-ดับเบิ้ล ได้มากกว่า 1 ครั้ง
พีรณัฐ เพิ่งจะอายุครบ 21 ได้ไม่นาน และเป็นเพื่อนร่วมรุ้นเดียวกันกับ ธีรวัฒน์ จันทะจร ซึ่งการที่ โมโน แวมไพร์ มีผู้เล่นวงในวัยหนุ่มสองคนนี้อยู่ในทีมก็แทยจะเรียกได้ว่า โกง เลยแหละ
ปล. “บิ๊ก” ธีรวัฒน์ จันทะจร ไม่ติดรายชื่อ 5 ผู้เล่นหน้าใหม่ไฟแรง ทั้งในปีนี้ และ ปีที่แล้ว เพราะเหตุผลซ้ำเดิม คือเรื่องของอาการบาดเจ็บนั่นเอง
