Matthew Wright, Jason Brickman to play in PBA DLegaue

An epic match up between rising Philippines star, Mac Belo, and ABL Star, Matthew Wright, was eventually going to happen sooner or later…so why not sooner?

The PBA D-League recently approved the application of the KL Dragons to join the Foundation Cup (set to start in May) under the name Blustar Detergent Dragons (personally, I’m waiting for the ridiculous team logo). Therefore, we might get to see Belo (who plays for the Phoenix-FEU Accelerators) play against Wright VERY soon.

Not only will it be Fil-Can Wright who will be strutting his stuff in the Philippines, but Fil-Am Jason Brickman will be there as well, too. The two ASEAN Imports will finally be getting their first taste of amateur basketball in the Philippines.

However, this will not count towards their required residency (7 games/conference and 2 conferences in the D-League) to apply for the PBA Draft next year.

This does mean that it is VERY possible that the Dragons will be returning both players to their squad for the next season.

Aside from the two Filipinos, the rest of the Malaysian team will be playing in the Foundation Cup as well. This will give them valuable experience that will surely sharpen their claws for future ABL and international competitions.

This will be interesting for the Malaysian players on the Dragons team who will make the National Team that will play in the SEABA Stankovic Cup which schedules might overlap. Still all of this competition is going to be great for their development.

The Blustar Detergent Dragons Dragons will not be having the services of their World Imports, Reggie Johnson and Calvin Godfrey.

เพราะฉะนั้นแล้ว เราอาจจะได้เห็น เบโล (ที่เล่นให้กับทีม ฟินิกซ์-FEU แอคเซเลอร์เรเตอร์ส) ฟัดกับ ไรท์ ในไม่ช้าเกินรอ!
