The NFL’s Seattle Seahawks have their “12th man” spurring them to victory. The NBA’s Los Angeles Lakers have the Lakers Nation backing them. Liverpool’s Kopites are famed throughout the soccer world.
And now, the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) has the latest addition to these groups of super-fans; the Saigon Heat’s most boisterous supporters, the Rusty Bucket Bad Boys.
Entrenched squarely behind the visiting team’s bench at every Heat home game, Canadian Pete Neufeld is all over the visiting squad from the opening tipoff. References to a player’s college career, most recent shot on the court, even their lunch habits are all fair game. Neufeld does whatever it takes to get under the skin of visiting players.
